full-moon-in-taurus

Welcome to November and the House of Taurus! This Full Moon cycle brings a lot with it so let’s waste no time and unpack this energetic offering!

A Moon By Any Other Name…

Supermoon. Beaver Moon. Frosty Moon. Dark Moon. Tree Moon. Full Moon in Taurus.

Whatever you choose to call her, the Moon is showing off even more so than normal. In this cycle, this months Moon is coming the closest to the Earth than it has been in 69 years. Unfortunately, those in Western North America, this will happen before sunrise in the wee hours of morning. Should you be awake, peek out of the window. It promises to be an amazing sight! So, what do all these names bring? Well, let’s dig into the big 3: SuperMoon, Full Moon, and Taurus influence.

First up, say hello Taurus! Practical, pragmatic, sensual and tantric. Taurus impacts us in our head and in our bodies. It is about experiencing life through all of the senses and being fully present to the energies of the body, mind and spirit. Under the Full (SuperMoon) these experiences will be amplified to a greater magnitude than normal. Intimacy and ecstasy will walk hand-in-hand with exploration of the physical and the emotional. Taurus will ground us in our bodies so we can expand our minds.

Next, SuperMoon. More than just a astronomical phenomenon, having the Moon swing so close to the Earth will cause an increase in tidal activity, cellular activity and intuitive activity. Think big movements in all three. Now would be a good time to take stock of your physical and emotional needs and decide where you want to get them met. This big push-pull can be a bit rough on us but it is temporary.

Finally, Full Moon (Beaver Moon). So called because it was the time when the Native Peoples noticed the Beaver gathering and getting ready for the Winter. This is the second to the last Full Moon before we cross the threshold into Winter so it is a time of energetic planning and collecting what we need to go into the Dark Night of Winter. As this Full Moon is hanging in the House of Taurus, this preparation is both metaphysical and very mundane. Clear the chakras and winterize the car.

So now that we know the influential energy signatures, on to the cycle!

Symbols of the cycle: Snake, Butterfly, Stairway

Characteristics: Experience and testing, harmony and balance, rest, and moderation in all things. Intuition runs high. Listen carefully.

Recommendations: Practicing self-control and being careful is prudent. Use the energy to find balance and peacefulness. Physical activity is highly desirable during this cycle. Passivity will breed anxiety and angst. Postpone major decisions until the heavy energy begins to ease (after the first 2 days) but move on decisions once that energy dissipates (day 3 onward).

Precautions: Avoid stress as much as possible. Arguments and temptations are not going to be useful or productive. A sense of calm and balance is needed and getting into screaming matches will disturb that for you and everyone around you. Don’t let the energy go to waste.
